That's a very intense scene. It's a shame they didn't include this and the Helo/Kara scene in the original cut.

I will say it again, always poor Boomer! If they had just forgiven her, she wouldn't have stolen Hera and they will still be looking for earth.

Forgive her?
Heck, if anyone had stopped by the brig and simply talked to her. Shown the least interest. After all, it didn't take much from a small child to flip her. Athena can show up to berate Chief and still talk about things she knew meant so much to Boomer; Helo can show up after Chief gets his kid stolen and practically beg to forgive him. But nobody could waste five minutes simply stopping to say "hello, how have you been?" when Boomer was in the brig. That's what's so odd and forced about the whole thing--not even an ounce of interest or sympathy for someone who helped the Fleet a great deal in its formative days.
The whole final sequence is just an obvious force to have an excuse for a big battle.

And isn't that "I know you had no idea" thing letting Chief off the hook a little much. He knew Boomer was going to impersonate Athena, knew that would require incapacitating her. At a minimum, he knew Athena was going to get knocked out, never a pleasant experience, which carries with it the potential for a struggle in which she is hurt, in the worst case severely. So he knew very well he was initiating some bad stuff. I suspect the law would still consider him an accessory to the whole thing.

Do you think John (Cavil) knew the humans so well that he was sure it wouldn't happen (and have a chance to screw his plan) ? Not very flattering for the Colonials.
