I hope it turns out well. BTW, RR, your Orange Cranberry slaw recipe saved one of my co-workers who promised to bring cranberry sauce to his clan's Thanksgiving dinner, but then had no idea how to make it. I gave him your recipe as an alternative to buying the canned stuff.

Looking back over the thread I'd forgotten how many good suggestions and recipes there are.

My wife likes baking (cookies especially). If you want to try your hand at it I'll post the recipe for her cherry chocolate cookies that make a guest appearance in today's installment of "Shape of Things Long Passed" as Mrs. Pachis's cookies that almost saved Colonial civilization.

Just wish to comment that it's Copper River salmon season, and it freezes well...

Rose,

Have you ever gotten salmon from Woodsmoke Provisions there in Atlanta?

I just thought you might have since it was a local supplier for you. My wife had the smoked salmon on the salad bar at a Brazillian steakhouse and thought it was the best she'd ever had. I managed to find out that their supplier is Woodsmoke Provisions. All the best salmon comes from Hotlanta, doesn't it? :giggles:

I am so embarrassed, I have had their pecan smoked trout and their pastrami salmon and didn't realize it- fail. It's really good stuff. We used to get it at the restaurant I was managing. Whole Foods carries it, if there is one near you.

I called Woodsmoke Provisions and they said that they only sold that particular salmon to Fogo de Chao's distributors and we'd have to call them and ask if they could sell it to us. I don't suppose you do business with Inland Seafood there in Hotlanta, do you Rose?

I'll go check Whole Foods today to see what other varieties they have.

Anybody have Thanksgiving recipes to share?

I'll pass along this one to go with my previous Two Best Dips Ever:

Mix a 1/2 lb of candied jalapenos with 3/4 lb of cream cheese. Sample and add more jalapenos or cheese to taste. Eat with corn chips, RR's toasted bread bits, or a large spoon.

I've done business with Inland before, but as I am out of the restaurant industry and trying REALLY hard to never go back, ever, I can't access suppliers like I could. Sorry....

That's okay. What are you doing now? How is your baking coming along?
