The long- awaited Trick R' Treat is being released next week on October 6, and I for one am wildly excited. It's available through amazon.com for 14.99, and Walmart for 14.86.

It's had so much hype, and been postponed so many times that I hope I am not disappointed. I really like GOOD horror films, and from what I have seen of this one, it's really attuned to the mythologies and reasons behind the holiday (the lead character is called Sam, a diminutive of the traditional "Samhein" (pronounced "Sovvan") and it's apparently very accurate).

The movie's website is here; http://trickrtreat-movie.warnerbros.com/.

Blu-Ray gets all the good stuff, like deleted scenes and the history of the holiday, but the regular release gets a director's commentary, at least.

*scowls* Went to get Trick R Treat and it was sold out. Wally World put it out on SUNDAY. :fume: So I'll have to wait, and that sucks.

I ran into the nicest lady who was also looking for it when I was there; the Wally World employees seemed quite confounded. I should have Amazoned it- it's their #12 seller today.

Never been a fan of the horror genre, in the least

There have been sightings of this on the internets. I'll have to check it out. :)

Just watched it; I'll screen cap Tahmoh when I get the chance. I enjoyed the movie.

Quote from a Michael Dougherty interview full-text here.

Quote:
Tahmoh Penikett also stars in the film. Were you a Battlestar Galactica fan?

I’m a huge fan of the series. I joke with him that I cast him so I could get the set tour! I knew we were coming back to Vancouver where we shot X2. I also knew the Battlestar Galactica actors were running around and they are obviously good actors. I called the casting director and said, “See how many of the Battlestar actors are available.” Tahmoh auditioned, as did Aaron Douglas. I also met with Katee Sackhoff but she wasn’t available unfortunately.
